Rockland Rock Band Camp Minimum Musical Requirements:

All instruments and ages welcome, upon approval.
In person evaluation may be required.
Students will be grouped by desired styles, ability and band requirements.
Drums and amps supplied.
Two keyboards available. Another might be required depending on the band.
Guitarists can bring they own amps if desired.
*Student's own equipment needed for final performance
Band styles could cover:
Classic Rock: 60's to today( Zep, Stones, GNR, Kiss)
Pop: Taylor Swift, Hannah Montana, Justin Bieber,etc
Metal: Metallica, Avenge Sevenfold, …
Other……..
Guitarists:
* Ability to play songs they know in time.
* Knowledge and ability to play all open chords, power chords. Barre chords a plus.
* Ability to play pentatonic scale or other scales a plus.
* Ability to play chord charts/tab/lead sheets
Bassist::
* Ability to play songs they know in time.
* Knowledge of all notes up the 5th fret
* Ability to read tab and/or chords charts/lead sheets
Drummers:
* Ability to play songs they know in time.
* Ability to play basic beats with fills( basic, rock, shuffle etc.)
Keyboardists:
* Ability to play chord charts/tab/lead sheets
* Ability to play songs they know in time.
* Ability to play simple melodies a plus
* Need to supply Keyboard for performance
Vocalists:
* Ability to sing songs they know in time and in tune.
* Ability to memorize lyrics
Horn Players:
* Ability to read basic rhythms
* Ability to play pentatonic or other scales a plus
All students will learn how to communicate with each other, listen in a band setting, develop time feel, song forms, rehearsal techniques, stage presence, operate equipment and team work.
Benefits of playing in a band include making new friends, builds confidence musically and personally, develop musical communication skills and having a fun time.
This is one week of FUN work.
The bands work towards a performance on the weekend.
**Looking to fill 4 bands sessions per week so space is limited.
Multiple guitar/key/vocal can be in bands.
